Securing livelihoods
Covid-19 has remained a central challenge for both Anglo American and our communities throughout the yearsince 2020. We focused on online training opportunities and continued to work with our partners to improve connectivity to increase access and opportunities for members of our communities.
We believe that the work done to close the so-called digital divide – the uneven access to information communication technologies in both emerging and developed economies – will have a major impact on socio-economic development long after the pandemic has receded.
In 2021, we sought to positively impact livelihoods by continuing to pursue site-specific strategies. These included inclusive procurement, enterprise and skills development, corporate social investment and developing local government capacity.
